THE UNCOMMON ROBIN
POTTERY STUDIO
Where clay meets community, and every class ends with a keepsake you’ll actually want to keep (after firing of course!) Nestled in the Green Mountains, our studio is a creative escape for locals, weekenders, vacationers, and anyone who needs a break from screens, schedules, and “shoulds.” No experience required — just curiosity, good energy, and hands you don’t mind getting a little clay on.
ROOTED IN VERMONT
Where Creativity and Community Meet
Founded in 2025 by Newfane native
Erin, The Uncommon Robin Pottery Studio was built on a simple idea: everyone can be an artist when given the space to explore. What began as Erin’s personal creative outlet has grown into a welcoming studio where people of all skill levels come together to slow down, play with clay, and discover the joy of making something by hand. Our classes, private lessons, and workshops are designed to inspire confidence and creativity—whether you’re throwing your first bowl or glazing your hundredth. Each experience invites curiosity, laughter, and a sense of connection that lasts long after the clay has dried.
7 Week Beginner
Wheel Throwing Series
Our 7-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Series is the ultimate “I’ve always wanted to try this” class – a guided, small-group journey into the basics of pottery on the wheel. Over seven weeks, you’ll learn how to center clay, pull walls, shape bowls and cylinders, trim and refine your forms, add handles or texture, and finish your pieces with beautiful, food-safe glazes. Each session includes 3 hours of hands-on instruction, plus unlimited open studio time to practice on your own, access to all studio tools and equipment. We keep the class small (6 people max) so you get personal attention and real progress—not just a demo and a “good luck!” The final week ends with a relaxed “Sip & Show” night where you glaze your last pieces, celebrate with the group, and see how far you’ve come. Perfect for total beginners, locals, second-home Vermonters, or anyone craving a weekly creative reset. No experience required—just a willingness to get a little muddy and a lot proud of yourself. Access to open studio from noon to 5pm.
Parties
We love hosting unforgettable pottery parties at The Uncommon Robin — whether it’s a bridal shower where every guest paints a wine cup for the bride, a baby shower where friends create plates and the mom paints a special “Birthday Plate” to use every year, a girls’ night filled with laughter, wine, and whatever pottery piece calls your name, or a custom celebration designed around your group. You pick the theme and the project (mugs, bowls, plates, wine cups, ornaments, ring dishes, etc.), and we handle the setup, materials, instruction, firing, and cleanup. Bring snacks, bring drinks, bring your people—we’ll provide the creative magic, cozy Vermont studio vibes, and a take-home piece that turns the memory into something permanent. Perfect for birthdays, bachelorettes, team-building, family weekends, or “we just wanted an excuse to hang out and make something.” Shipping is available for out-of-town guests, and optional add-ons—charcuterie boards, custom glaze palettes, can make the night even more special.

Paint & Sips
Zero rules, total fun. You pick a bisque piece (mug, bowl, wine cup, etc.), choose your colors, and paint however you like — abstract, detailed, chaotic, or “I don’t really care as long as I’m sipping.” These are BYOB events - feel free to bring snacks!
Designed for: girls’ nights, couples, birthday groups, après-ski vibes
Charcuterie Board Classes
Build and design your own ceramic charcuterie or cheese board — rectangular, oval, paddle-style, or with an organic edge. Using a large rolled slab of clay, you’ll shape, bend, fold, scoop, and cut to create a one-of-a-kind board that’s uniquely yours — perfect for your home or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
